 It's always fun to celebrate a new baby! Here's a peek at some decor I crafted up for a baby shower I hosted this week. It was very fun to incorporate the colors and theme of the baby's nursery with the party decor. A bright and fun event for this wintry month :)

Love Trees....tutorial

Pink and glitter is what today's project is all about. A fun display for Valentine's day that has height, texture and color.

Materials: 

Styrofoam cones (3)

package of red rose petals ($1 store)

Mardi Gras Beads (8pk from $1 store)

Glitter

Hot glue gun

Spray adhesive

Spray paint - raspberry - cone

white - base

3 candlesticks

BEADED TREE

1. Cut necklace so it's 1 long strand

2. Place a line of glue around the base and place beads. Repeat all the way around continuing up to the top adding other strands as necessary. (Styrofoam will melt a bit under the hot glue so apply lightly with thin streams of glue.) I used 6 necklaces for this project. 

3. Spray Paint in color desired. I used a Raspberry pink. 

(**extra step - While it was still wet I sprinkled a small amount of pink glitter over it)

ROSE TREE

1. Position 1 petal near the bottom of the cone so it hangs over the bottom edge slightly. Glue into place. Place a 2nd petal so it overlaps the 1st a bit. Glue into place and repeat for a complete row.
Start 2nd row so petal covers 1/2 of petal below it. Glue and repeat this process until the cone is covered.

 Place 1 petal on top and glue down around the sides.

(**extra step - because I was going for a pink theme with my 3 trees I lightly sprayed my finished tree with the Raspberry spray paint. this created a fun mix of reds and pinks. While it was still wet, I sprinkled a small amount of my pink glitter on it.)

GLITTER TREE

1. Spray with adhesive glue. Sprinkle glitter over the entire cone. Let dry.

FINISHING UP

1. Glue 3 candlesticks to the bottom of the cones. I thrifted some brass skinny candlesticks and spray painted them white. 

Arrange on a shelf, table or mantel!

The best thing about winter

I have finally reached that itchy, antsy stage of January. Stage three terminal January. I fled to the brooklyn botanic garden for the afternoon as I am wont to do when the going gets tough and stumbled upon spring, centrally located in one unassuming bonsai.

Just looking at the little pink plum blossoms I could feel my whole body sigh. Thank god. Remember how I recently said all of the charming things I liked about winter? Rosy cheeks the color of spring's first plum blossom and all that?

Well, I have just remembered my absolute favorite part about winter.  It ends.

Inca Ball Blast is a very interesting Java game for Symbian S60v5 based touch screen mobiles. Your objective in this game is to shoot the ball to collect the stars, block and diamonds. You can touch and drag the ball to choose the direction you want to hit and release it to shot the ball.

When you collect all the stars, blocks and diamonds, you complete a level. As the level increases, there will be more obstacles. So, watch out! There are points you receive when you collect different types of star, blocks and diamonds. Some of these may low your score so keep an eye.

Inca Ball Blast is very difficult game. You get limited time in each level and you have to collect stars, diamonds and blocks as early as possible to move to next level within the time. Once your time is over, you need to start that level again. Quite challenging but at the same time very addictive.

Puzzle 2 3D is a very interesting Java puzzle game for Symbian S605th touch screen mobiles. The objective in this game is to move the blox to the desired position. Any wrong move may lose your blox. To move the blox, slide your finger on the screen.

So the goal of this game is to place the master yellow blox on the end yellow tile. You also need to watch out for the breaktable tiles. When you stand vertically on them, they will collapse. There are bluew switches, you need to position your blox horizontally or vertically on blue switch to activate/deactivate game elements.

The red switches need the blox to be positioned vertically on them. Besides the main yellow blox, there are 2 optional ones that can appear when the main blox sits on specific tiles. There is a Ghost blox as an independent blox. Use it to reach triggers that are unreachable for your main blox.

There are mirror blox which moves at the same time as the main blox with the same moves. To make it little difficult, there is laser, a blocking element. To pass through it, you need to turn it off or block it with a Ghost blox. This game is developed by Advanced Mobile Applications and Cocoasoft.
