So, ThinkGeek released the iControlPad. It's a controller for your iOS or even Android device. The controller has a 4 directional pad, two analog control nubs, 6 buttons on the front, and 2 on the back. It connects to your device using bluetooth, and has an onboard battery that can both power the controller, as well as extend the life of your phone's battery.
App Store apps that work with the iCade controller for the iPad will also work with the iControlPad. And, if you've jailbroken your iOS device, you can use it for emulators and even more games.
There's just one huge drawback to the iControlPad and that's the price. It's $74.99. It's hard to imagine why a bluetooth controller should cost so much. Even console controllers cost far less. And, while it works with over 30 games on the App Store, and emulators, it seems like a lot of money for just a few games. With any luck, the price will drop in the future, and adoption for the controller will catch on in the App Store.
