I feel like I'm watching the Star Wars trilogy (the good one). First, many sites, including Wikipedia, Google, Reddit, and Greg's Tech Blog, did a "blackout" in protest of the oppressive SOPA and PIPA bills. A small but great victory for the rebels... erm.. US citizens. Earlier today, the government (empire) stuck back by taking down Megaupload (and Megavideo). But just a few minutes later, Anonymous responded by taking down a few key websites. So far, the RIAA, MPAA, FBI, Department of Justice, EMI, Universal, US Copyright office, and even French copyright authority HADOPI. Sacrebleu! Who will they go after next? (My recommendation is the websites of SOPA/PIPA backers).
