Happy Thanksgiving! I hope this Holiday finds you happy, well, warm and surrounded with all the things that make this day special and memorable for you!

I love this Holiday and time of year because we all take the time reflect on all the blessings we have been given and just how good our life really is. Make the most of your Time. Here is a poem I just recently was given that helps put time in perspective and might make you reflect on our own blessings... :)

To realize
The value of a sister/brother
Ask someone
Who doesn't have one.

To realize
The value of ten years:
Ask a newly
Divorced couple.

To realize
The value of four years:
Ask a graduate.

To realize
The value of one year:
Ask a student who
Has failed a final exam.

To realize
The value of nine months:
Ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn.

To realize
The value of one month:
Ask a mother
Who has given birth to a premature  baby..

To realize
The value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize
The value of one minute:
Ask a person
Who has missed  the train, bus or plane.

To realize
The value of one-second:
Ask a person
Who has survived an accident.

Time waits for no one.
Treasure every moment you have.

You will treasure it even more when
You can share it with someone special.

To realize the value of a friend or family member:
LOSE ONE.

BOO your neighbors........

Diposting oleh fawaid on Jumat, 02 Oktober 2009

This is a "spooktacular" activity that is sure to become a family favorite! Spread the Halloween spirit to your friends and neighbors by playing this little game.

Gather your family together and create some yummy Halloween treats. Then as dusk begins to fall, load up a few plates with your goodies and attach the "You've been Boo'd" sign and head out with your family. Choose a friend's house to "BOO", set the treats, poem and sign on the front step, knock on the door and RUN for it! Don't get caught!!!!

Here's a BOO sign we use and the poem to explain how it all works!

The air is cool the season fall

Soon Halloween will come to all

The spooks are after things to do

In fact, a spook brought this to you

“BOO” is a shield from witching hour

Just hang it up and watch its power

On your front door is where it works

It wards off spooks and scary jerks

The treats that came with crypted note

Are yours to keep, enjoy them both

The power comes when friends like you

Will copy this and make it TWO

Then others here among our friends

Will give warm fuzzies that do not end

We’ll all have smiles upon our faces

No one will know who “BOO”ed whose places

Just one short day to work your spell

Or a big ZAP will strike your tail

And don’t forget a nifty treat,

Like something cute or something sweet

Please join fun, let’s really hear it

And spread some “BOO”s and Halloween spirit.

Sharing a Holiday Tradition....

Diposting oleh fawaid on Kamis, 04 Desember 2008

If you've followed my blog for awhile then you will recognize this little guy. But since I have gathered a few new friends since this same time last year I'd thought I would share this idea again.

My sister got us started on this new tradition last year (it makes a great gift for your own family and for others too). Allow me to introduce, Mr. Peeps.

mr peeps

No, this isn't a creepy little elf "peeping" in your window (wink, wink). It's a fun new family Holiday Tradition! Bare with me here. I promise you'll love it!

Mr. Peeps is an elf sent from Santa's workshop to watch if your kids are "Naughty" or "Nice". He arrives with a poem soon after Thanksgiving and goes home with Santa on Christmas Eve. He was a instant HIT at our house last year! Here is the poem that goes along with him:

Christmas is approaching, and this is the day
Santa has sent Mr. Peeps to your house to stay.
He send this small elf to your house and mine.
Soon after Thanksgiving, He must be on time.
Mr. Peeps has a purpose. His purpose will be,
To whisper to Santa all the good that he sees.
Soon after he gets here, he moves only at night
To high places, low places, he stays in plain sight.
In the kitchen, for instance, he sits high on a shelf.
Mr. Peeps can sit anywhere, for he is an elf.
He holds very still when he thinks you are watching.
His magic is precious, it fades with on touching.
He sits on the tree on Christmas Eve day.
He knows that Santa is soon on his way.
He waits and he waits without making a noise.
He waits until Santa arrives with the toys.
So you better be nice and mind what you say
Because Mr. Peeps will tell Santa when he comes with his sleigh.
Once Christmas is here and Santa has come,
Mr. Peeps must leave, for his job is well done.
But, he will return next year on the very same day,
To watch your behavior as you work and play.

Isn't that fun?? A great way to help your kids be good this season. So pop on over to your local $1.00 store and see if they have any "elves" or pop onto Etsy and pick up a great handmade one or a kit to make one yourself!
