WHIPPANY, USA: WhipTail, maker of high-performance, cost-effective NAND flash silicon storage arrays, announced that its XLR8r has achieved VMware Ready status. This designation indicates that WhipTail’s XLR8r has passed a detailed evaluation and testing process managed by VMware and is now listed on the VMware Solution Exchange (VSX).

Passing the extensive VMware-specified testing helps ensure that WhipTail’s XLR8r makes best use of VMware technology and is ready for deployment in customer environments.

“We are pleased that WhipTail XLR8r qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that it has passed specific VMware testing and interoperability criteria and is ready to run in production environments,” said Sheryl Sage, director, Alliance Programs, VMware.

“By using WhipTail’s enterprise class NAND flash silicon storage array with VMware vSphere, customers can successfully move to highly productive virtualized environments where demand for large amounts of WRITE IO are a must,” said Dan Crain, CEO at WhipTail. “Our storage solution is specifically designed for low latency and high IO environments where performance, price and scalability are top priorities.”

The VMware Ready program is a VMware co-branding program for qualified partner products and is a benefit of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program. With more than 2,000 members worldwide, the VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
