Adobe Confirms: No More Flash for Mobile Devices

Diposting oleh fawaid on Rabu, 09 November 2011

Adobe announced today that they would cease development on Flash for mobile devices. Apparently, it didn't go well with the Android devices that had Flash. Adobe will instead focus on HTML5 and software for making Flash apps run on iOS and other mobile operating systems. Adobe will continue developing Flash for desktop computers, but their mobile division of Flash is dead. How long will Flash continue on desktops? How long until Flash is replaced with HTML5 on the web? It's unknown, but this could be the beginning of the end.

Flash Trojan for Mac OS

Diposting oleh fawaid on Rabu, 19 Oktober 2011

For some odd reason, this malware was updated. They just won't let it lie down and die. The latest version of the malware can actually disable automatic updating of the built in Mac OS anti-malware software. You could make sure it updates manually though.

Fortunately, it's incredibly easy to avoid this trojan. If your flash installer looks like the photo above, and you downloaded it directly from Adobe, then install it. If it looks like the screenshot below, you've got a trojan on your hands, and you should delete it immediately. You're safe, it still requires you to download, install it, and give it your password, so you're still relatively safe.

Adobe Unveils Flash 11 and Air 3

Diposting oleh fawaid on Rabu, 21 September 2011

Adobe announced today that they'd be releasing Flash 11 and Air 3 this October. Betas of the software are available now.
Adobe claims the updates allow for "console quality" (debatable) gaming on the web. The improvements should increase performance across the board, and new Air apps for iOS will run better than ever as well. The software will bring better video, 2D, 3D, and better graphics, using the computers graphics card.

Flash still won't run natively on iOS, but with previous announcements, as well as the advancements to Air, Adobe products will work better than ever with iOS. Plus, Adobe developers can use Flex to make iOS games with the same tools they use to make Flash apps. With any luck, this could be the best version of Flash yet. Although, that's not really saying too much, is it?
You can download the betas on Adobe's website.
