I have been busy fliting in and out of town - short trips - finishing up a few sewing projects and attending to details for an upcoming event I was in charge in. Glad to have the event off my plate with and done. whew!I created a custom order pair of women's "Shaggy Mosaic" jeans for a new customer. She wanted jewel tones with accents brown and black added. It's been awhile since I have taken any custom orders because I was ill for so long in the early part of my pregnancy, but it felt good to create this rich colorful design and work with the denim again. Here's a few peeks at how they turned out. (you know I love to share photos!)
Of course it's Miss Anna's Garden Party fabric again. I just loved all the rich, deep, jewel toned colors and variation of pattern and size of the designs as well. I hope that the customer likes them!
So after getting a few big projects completed, I had to treat myself! I've
spent a few days glued to the new Stephenie Meyer book, Breaking Dawn, which completes the Twilight series of books. *sigh*..................I'm sad for them to be done but the new book was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! They author definately did not disappoint! There will not be any spoilers here! I would have hated to have stumbled across a spoiler before getting to read it myself. Just a bit of fun summer reading and a good break from reality. *snicker*

LOL!!!! Ok, I stepped out of my comfort zone yesterday and thought I would continue my "braveness" and share it with all of you. I guess sharing it is the part that really steps me out of my comfort zone. Anyway, I finished up the garden party skinny scarves I mentioned the other day. They are gorgeous! well, I think so anyway. ;)And before I get them up on my website I have to have them modeled right? If you frequent my website or follow me here you'll know I usually model my stuff. Well, being 6 months pregnant I haven't been jumping in front of the camera to have my picture taken. (tee hee he) BUT thought I would give it a shot. To see if the photos didn't look too bad to use or if they did, go and call a friend to model the scarves for me! ha!
SO I did it and I am posting the photos for all to see. OY! Remember, this is the brave stepping out of my box step. ;) But hey, we can keep it real right? Tell me what ya think!!! Are the photos OK enough to use? or do they look to "maternity"?
One is the Garden Party skinny scarf and the other is Summer City. And speaking of my website, my makeover will be starting NEXT week!!! eek! I'm so excited!!!! If you've been holding back on purchasing something don't wait! My website will be down for a weeks soon, "under construction" before the big debut!
So really, tell me what ya think. I've noticed the hot trend in Hollywood this summer has been scarves and with Fall coming on we'll just be seeing more scarves! lucky us!!!

Has it really been that long since I have posted on my blog???? wow! Time really does fly eh?
I've been busy "finishing up" summer I guess you could say. We only have a few short weeks left before school starts back up and there still is plenty of fun left to be had and done! Of course it hasn't been all fun and games around here. My sewing machine and scissors have been busy as well. Take a peek at my new love affair.
It's Garden Party fabric by Anna Maria Horner and honestly I couldn't pick a favorite! Everytime I *think* I have, I find another print or colorway that steals my heart away again! tee hee he. I thinks it's the boldness of the design and colors that is so perfect for the end of the summer and beginning of fall that has me all entranced in it's beauty. *sigh*............................... Can you tell I am just in love with it? I've been sewing it up all weekend into Skinny Scarves for my website but it's going to be very hard to part with. There are sooooo many different fabrics in each new scarf! Hopefully you will love it as much as I do! Thanks Anna for another GREAT fabric line!
I also have another tutorial in the works! I just need to get the photos edited first. But my daughter and I have been crafting up some fun on the side as well!
Getting her room re-organized after summer and ready for back to school. You've seen her new bulletin board, well we made a magnet board too. And what's a magnet board without some custom made bubble magnets right? LOL...........Aren't these fabulous!? We used the Lotus paper pack from Amy Butler! Gorgeous! One of the fun parts was hearing my daughter say, "Mom. You have this fabric, and this one, and this one........ well you get the picture. ;) I linked my tutorial on how to make bubble fridge magnets of your own. Have a great day!

Quilt Market - should we wrap it up????

There is still SO much that could be said but I'm afraid I am boring you and dragging it out with every little detail and person I met! LOL - so how about we wrap it up???
I attended Market not as Meg from Brassy Apple but Meg from BoutiqueCafe. I was the production assistant and loved every minute of it! I got to shoot all the footage and meet wonderful people. If you saw me there I probably looked something like this:
Toting equipment, cables and blocking traffic in the aisles as we would interview people.
The booths were a feast for the eyes - Full of color, inspiration and oozing creativity. Here's a few pictures I was able to snap on my own when I was able to put the camera down for a minute.
The owner of Serendipity was so chic in this outfit done with Tina Givens fabric and her booth floor covering was too good to miss!
We found a refreshing take on farm fabric design with Keri Beyer's Urban Farm line. Her set up was adorable!
I've never seen "farm" done so well and so chic!!!
Of course LOVED meeting and chatting with Anna! She makes you feel so at ease and is so delightful to talk to! and get this - Anna knew who I was!!!!! I was standing at a near by booth and Anna walked by, she stopped and said, "Don't I know you?"
I was instantly nervous to have her approach me and compose myself to talk to her. I replied as calmly as I could, "No, we haven't met yet. My name is.....etc, etc." (you get the picture) We shake hands.
Then Anna responds back with, "No, I know you. You do aprons right? (gulp. yeah that's me I'm thinking to myself) "And you do your photos in black and white and leave the aprons in color."
HOLY COW! (i'm freaking out inside) "Yeah, that's me. wow!" I said to her. "See, I knew I knew you. I get around the blogging world!" said Anna so chicly.
Anyway, we continue to chat for a minute but I was blown away! She really is a genuinely nice person. thank you Anna for making my day! Here's a few photos from her award winning first place booth!
And check out her cool hair! It's short in the back and tapered up the to the front so it looks long! another surprise from Anna!
This post is getting really long and I'm not done yet..............so let's wrap it up with Tina Givens. Loved her accent! She grew up in Africa and now lives in Canada. She has a great story and her booth and personality reflected her wisdom and experiece - I thought anyway.

Hello! I am just returning from a Fabulous weekend in Portland at the International Quilt Market. Of course Flat Betty was right there to enjoy all the festivites and jaw dropping moments - eek! I can't wait to share! Some of my favorite fabric designers are more amazing to see and meet in person! Makes me admire them even more. LOTS of photos coming this week from all my adventures with Daria of Boutique Cafe and Amelia of Intimate Photography! stay tuned......

We are pulling out of the dulldrums of winter around here. Well, at least this week anyway. All the sunshine and "warmer" weather (temps in the 40's) sure puts a spring in my step and a fire under my feet! I LOVE Spring - actually I love the change of seasons we get here but I love the fact that in Spring everything is new, fresh and bright! I'm actually getting the "itch" to sew and create some new things. SO - if you are feeling the "itch" too here's a few contests, tutorials, etc you might want to try or at least take a peek at (wink)
