Audrey Hepburn quote DIY project

I love Audrey Hepburn.She's a classic American Beauty. I created this framed artwork for my office using the a retro vinyl cutout from Daisy Decals. 

I simply applied the decal to the bottom of the glass using the instructions they sent. Then I printed out this saying  using Word, popped it into the frame, and VOILA! I can easily change out the saying whenever I'd like.

Mom it Monday #7 - UglySofa Giveaway!

The Christmas decorations are going up in our house this week as soon as Thanksgiving Day is over!

UglySofa.com wants to deck out your mantel with new stockings!

UglySofa.com sent me some to check out and I have to say their stockings are GREAT! They are large in size, well made (these are not flimsy or thin stockings!), and adorned with darling Christmas characters and scenes. 

Do you decorate with stockings or do they just hang waiting for Santa to come? I think they are great used in many different ways - in the middle of a wreath, slung over a chair, hung over windows and more! 

UglySofa.com also sent me some sweater stockings that had some random names embroidered on them. I quickly remedied that and wanted to share a quick project with you! 

I turned the stocking inside out. 

I cut a strip of burlap and pleated it across the name. Then it was sewn into place. Simple and easy! (it would be really easy to add fabric rosettes, buttons, pre-gathered ruffles and more!)

I love the cream color and texture of the sweater paired with the burlap.

Mom it Monday + GIVEAWAY!

Happy Monday!

I know Monday's aren't generally people's favorite day BUT I'd like to change that - a bit anyway. 

Besides my designs, patterns, tutorials, etc I tend to sneak in a bit about being a mom too. Sometimes to me it feels out of place so I haven't shared as many projects as I'd like. UNTIL now! 

Starting today, each Monday here on the Brassy Apple blog will be MOM IT MONDAY! 

I will share a kids craft idea, party idea, fun twist on family dinner, family activity, etc. Things that pertain to kids and family life. The weekends are always fun or full of activities but sometimes it's making it through the week that can be rough! (wink)

I hope that MOM it MONDAY will be a resource for you available at the beginning of the week for whenever you need it during the week!
