As you know I am phasing out of creating and carrying ready made items in the Brassy Apple Shop. I will have some scarves (coming soon!) and some DIY kits through the fall and Holiday season though!

With the new year school year starting I thought it would be fun to throw a giveaway!! My daughter loves to have some unique items in her Back to School Wardrobe and enjoys being a trend setter instead of just a trend follower. Having said that, I don't think you can get more unique and original than a pair of Shaggy Mosaic Jeans! 

Pull out those jeans that have a hole in the knee but still fit and transform them for the Fall season! (psst....no one will ever know!) And I'm going to make it easy on you! 8 blog readers will receive a Shaggy Mosaic girls DIY kit and the pattern booklet (or ePattern version if you prefer) simply for commenting! Kids seem to grow out of their jeans before they are worn out right? The length always gets to short - at least with my kids - or they wear out the knees WAaaAAY too soon! 

Crop the jeans off for shorts or capris, refashion them into a denim skirt or simply cover up that hole in the knee in a whole new way with my Shaggy Mosaic Jeans technique Pattern Booklet!

I shared photos last week of how to sport the good ol' red, white and blue. This week, Kami of the Sweet Charli Blog, has made over a denim skirt using my pattern booklet and is sharing her results! 3 years ago when we took our kids to Disneyland for the first time, I surprised them that morning with a special "outfit" to wear on their big day!

My daughter's were princess themed of course and my little guy's were pirate with matching Disney tees.

Several of the characters commented on their outfits which made them feel even more special in that magical place!

So have fun with your summer outfits! Make something special that will remember having and LOVE to wear!

My photo Friday.....sample

I am a lucky girl.......Some of you may have a love affair or obsession with fabric. If so, you can relate. I created 3 samples for Moda to take to the International Quilt Market next week and I got to work with 2 upcoming lines of fabrics! I was so giddy holding these fabrics that would be new at market. I just felt lucky......

I was able to work with SPIRIT by Lila Tueller and created a Maddie Bee Top and coordinating Shaggy Mosaic Jeans.....

and I also created a Lucy Apron in  FANDANGO by Kate Spain

and the reverse side.....

and a little of the detailing....

Maddie Bee Pattern...and the Queen of Hearts!

So we've been dishin' all week on the fun ways to sew up the Maddie Bee pattern (see here and here). Can you handle another post?? I HOPE SO! 
Besides all the different design options the pattern offers, we have also included lots of IDEAS too! Without giving those away, think about creating a Maddie Bee top in a "theme".......
Like what about The Queen of Hearts! With the new Alice in Wonderland movie about to debut, there are sure to be some tea parties, community events, birthday parties, school events,  etc centered around this theme coming up this spring and summer!! and why not show up in style.....I bet your little girl would be the best dressed too! (tee he hee)
