Bad news to fans of production Apple: if you smoke, thereby break warranty service conditions. According to Consumerist.com, the American services-centres of the company refuse to serve computers of smokers, including such computers hazardous to health of the employees.
The edition quotes letters of two readers who have addressed to founder Apple concerning refusal in warranty service. Both appealed to that the smoking theme does not appear in the guarantee agreement in any way.
On smokers the guarantee does not extend
The author of one of letters — the woman by name of Ruth — has received from Jobs's office the answer with sending to agency OSHA specifications on which nicotine is included into the list of dangerous substances. "But OSHA also names" dangerous "a calcium carbonate (is present at bioadditives with calcium), spirit and hydrogen peroxide (are used for washing of wounds), chlorine (which disinfect water), sucrose (is present at foodstuff) and talc (children's powders etc.)...", — the woman resounded.
Apple does not repair computers of smokers
As a result of negotiations representative Jobs has offered the proprietress of the computer (which does not smoke — the 21-year-old daughter smokes) additional diagnostics and disk drive repair, if a problem only in the disk drive. Then she has called back and has informed, that the computer contains pitch from a cigarette smoke, and the disk drive and is at all impregnated by nicotinic pitches, so Apple cannot repair the computer (got 2 years ago together with a 3-year-old guarantee) at the expense of the company.
