Things are settling down in some areas of our life after moving and picking up speed in others. It's nice to be mostly unpacked. The next challenge is decorating and making a rented house into a home. But it's coming along nicely........slowly but surely....... :)
With all the decorating and settling in going on I have been re-working some of our decor to make it work, make it fresh or pep it up a bit. We just recently spruced up the master bedroom by adding a headboard to the bed. It was so easy and was quickly finished and accomplished in an afternoon!
No need to reinvent the wheel - there are several tutorials we browsed through getting different ideas.
We used a plain white door from Home Depot - $25.00 - as the base.
Drilled the holes for our buttons...
Layered foam, batting and our faux white leather material. Stretched everything tight and STAPLED it like crazy!
Then we tufted it by adding white buttons the threading them through the holes we drilled in the beginning.... Attached a french cleat to the back and hung it on the wall!
It definitely gives the room a "wow" factor and makes it feel more that a "master suite".
