French Canvas Decor - DIY tutorial

Hello! If you are stopping by from Good things Utah it's nice to see you!
See the TV segment HERE
It's time for the Spring Spruce up - and I am talking about your decor! I was inspired by some images on a couple different pillows I saw at Pottery Barn but knew I wanted this same feel on my wall instead of just a pillow and with my own twist on it. I created this "Spring-y", crisp version for my mantle! You can too!

French Canvas decor

Materials:
2 pack 16x20 ready made canvas (from Hobby Lobby)
Fabric transfer paper (images/printer)
iron
scissors
black sharpie marker (optional)

Print butterfly and bird images and french wording onto transfer paper following the manufacturers instructions on the packaging of the transfer paper. (remember to print the mirror image so the words won't be backwards when transferred)

Cut out the images and arrange on the canvas to find a layout you like.

Apply to the canvas following the manufacturers directions. Apply 1 section then layer the next on top until completed. Peel off the paper backing.

If you find you have an empty space and not enough printed wording, simply sketch out some words with a pencil copying others that have been used. Then go over it with marker.

and you are done!!!! I love how they turned out!

I will be sharing this idea at these linky parties this week!
