Good news for Apple. The results of a study done by ChangeWave Research were recently published. Out of consumers who said they would be purchasing a smartphone, 46% said they were going with an iPhone. 32% said they would get an Android handset, and only 4% said they were considering a Blackberry.
The study asked current smartphone owners how satisfied they were with their smartphone. The iPhone had a commanding lead, with 70% reporting that they were "very satisfied" (the highest level of satisfaction in the questionnaire). Only half of Android users said they were very satisfied. Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry did the worst in the survey, with 27% and 26% answering "very satisfied" on the survey, respectively.
So there you have it, from the owners of these phone operating systems. iOS has the most satisfied users, as well as the highest consumer interest. RIM's Blackberry, on the other hand, is the least popular mobile OS, although it's only losing in satisfaction to Windows Phone by 1%. This study should be a good indication of the cellphone market in the near future.
