iPhone 4S is the Best Selling Smartphone on all Carriers

It's still an incredible feat, as the iPhone 4S has only been available for less than a month. The iPhone 4 is still incredibly popular as well, sitting in the top 3 for each carrier. So, have you gotten your iPhone yet?

Sprint CEO: Android is a Data Hog

Sprint is the only big carrier to still offer unlimited data. Although it's slower than AT&T's or Verizon's, customers don't have to worry about going over their limit. But, if you are on a different carrier, you'll be happy to know that Sprint found that iPhones are more efficient with data. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said during a conference call that iPhones were 50% more efficient at handling data over Android phones. If you're on Sprint, it's not that big of a deal, as they still have an unlimited plan. But, if you're on AT&T, Verizon, or even T-Mobile, that data efficiency will save you money, and keep your internet going as fast as ever.
So, if you browse the web, check social networks, or watch videos over your cellular data plan, you may want to go with the phone that uses data most efficiently. Once again, the iPhone is the way to go.

iPhone 5 Coming to Sprint and T-Mobile?

Today, MacTrast has reported that the iPhone 5 will also work for T-Mobile. Though T-Mobile customers can already get an unlocked iPhone, an iPhone with a contract for T-Mobile would allow users to possibly save some money, as well as take advantage of T-Mobile's full speed data. This rumor apparently comes from someone within T-Mobile who had been briefed on the subject.
This would put the iPhone on every major carrier in the US. One of the biggest reasons people had for not getting an iPhone was that it wasn't available through their carrier. Android also owes much of its growth to consumers looking for a smart phone like an iPhone, but couldn't get the real thing.

New Bill Clarifies "4G"

When Tmobile's advertising the "largest 4G network", they're really talking about HSPA+, the slowest form of 4G. It's been around since 2008, and while it is faster than normal 3G, it's nothing to write home about. Tmobile can claim a large 4G network, but what they don't mention is that it's much slower than any other form of 4G.
That's why a bill has been created to try to change this. It would force carriers to be honest about the speed of their 4G networks, allowing customers to make direct comparisons.
The bill, called the Next Generation Wireless Disclosure Act, is new, and it's still in the House. If approved, however, carriers would still be able to claim they have a 4G network, but they'd also have to mention the speed of their network.
Will carriers block this through extensive lobbying? Only time will tell, but it could become a lot easier to compare networks in the near future.
