Explore something new in your own town!
Hi! It's Me, Megan, sharing a fun family outing idea today.
Whether you've lived in the same place for a long time or have just moved, there are always places, events, festivals that you haven't ever attended or haven't been too in a long time.
I am challenging you to explore a museum or nature center, national park or something in or near your home town that you haven't ever before or haven't in a long time. It supports local businesses and events, your kids to get learn and explore without even realizing they are and it's a good, fun time for everyone!
We just discovered the Ogden Nature Center which happened to be only 20 minutes from our house.
It's 150 some acres preserved right in the middle of the city. There was so much to see and do!!! The kids were going crazy at all the fun HANDS ON stuff they had to do inside and lots of walking paths, ponds and activities outside too! We didn't get to all that we wanted too so a second trip is already planned :)
Like I said, it's very hands on so the kids just dove in! Animals up close and personal.....
Exhibits at their eye level and encouraging them to touch, rearrange and use....
We took a walk down the Bird House trail and explored all the fun things that bird houses can be made out of and how creative people got!
And even make and take crafts too! (you know I especially loved that part)
The Ogden Nature Center has great day camps, preschool classes, and weekly events for your kids and your family. We barely scratched the surface at all there was to do and the staff was so willing to help, show you around and explore with you! Plus you can take a picnic lunch there! So take a walk down a trail, explore a pond, a child sized man made mouse hole and have a bite to eat without needing to leave because it's time to eat.
Thanks Ogden Nature Center!
I know there are things in your town to explore with your family! Pick at least 1 and plan an outing! And if you are in Northern Utah WE highly recommend the Ogden Nature Center.
