In Store Purchases using only an iOS Device?

According to sources reporting to multiple news sites, the Apple Store app for iOS will soon allow users to purchase items in store using only their iOS device. Walk in, pick up what you want, pay for it using the app and your Apple ID, and walk out. You'll have a receipt emailed to you.

How Apple will protect against theft is unknown, but I'm sure there will be a system in place. Apple is expected to roll out the service this Thursday.
