iOS Claims 60% Mobile OS Marketshare

iOS marketshare is up to 60%, up from around 40% last year at this time. The incredible 20% increase can be accredited to the increasing popularity of iOS, paired with a new iPhone, and the availability of the iPhone 4/S on the three biggest cell phone service providers in the US. It also helps that the iPad is growing in popularity, and is still the #1 tablet, by far. 

The only other mobile operating system making gains is Android, which is currently holding a little under 20% of the market. Although, Windows Phone 7 isn't on this chart, it hasn't been incredibly popular, and has seen very slow adoption.  

iOS is available on three very popular device families, the iPhone, the iPod, and the iPad. With AT&T carrying a free iPhone, and Verizon and Sprint finally joining in the iPhone game, expect iOS growth to continue.
