Light Meter is a Qt based application which lets you test your mobile built in ambient light sensor. If in case Light Meter app does not seem to be registering then put the mobile in bright sunlight with the screen facing towards the sun.
The light sensor on most mobiles is on the same side as the screen, normally at the top of the mobile. The application is developed by Camtek Computing for Symbian^3 and Symbian S60 5th edition based touch screen mobiles such as Nokia N8, E7, C6, C7, 5800 XpressMusic, N97, N97 Mini, X6, 5228, 5230, 5233, 5235 and 5530 XpressMusic.
