Apple Tester Loses iPhone Prototype in Bar (Again)

Nope, you're not reading an old article. And no, Gizmodo hasn't gotten it... yet. They wouldn't make the same mistake twice, would they?

As of now the prototype hasn't shown up. It was lost in July, and Apple has been working with the local police to try to track it down. I guess "Find my iPhone" doesn't work on prototype phones. Police questioned some people, and searched a few homes. One man was even offered a cash reward from Apple, with no questions asked, if he could lead them to the location of the iPhone prototype. He was unable to help them. It's believed that the phone may have been sold on Craigslist for $200. If someone was willing to sell the phone for so little, perhaps it is the "iPhone 4S", which is expected to look like an iPhone 4 and be released alongside the iPhone 5.

Apple is frantically looking for the phone, saying that the prototype is "priceless". I have to disagree with them, Gizmodo discovered that the price of an iPhone prototype is somewhere around $5,000.

The lesson here, iPhone testers, is that if you're going to go out and get smashed, maybe you should take your current iPhone.
