Apple Acquired C3 Technologies for Incredible 3D Maps

You may have used Google Earth in the past, but it pales in comparison to what C3 Technologies does with 3D mapping. They're using formally classified missile targeting technology to produce the most photorealistic 3D maps ever seen. Best of all, it's coming to iOS devices in the not too distant future.

C3 Technologies showed off an older version of their mapping software on the first iPad back in early 2010. But now, with the iPad 2 and more efficient algorithms, it's expected to run even better than it did in their demo video in 2010. 

Apple has been working on their own, feature-rich map application for some time now. The addition of these fantastic 3D maps, complete with overlays will make Apple's map app a killer feature of future iOS devices.
