The iPhone 5 hasn't even been reveal yet and smartphone buyers are already going crazy for it. Even before release, 41% of smartphone owners said they'd buy the iPhone 5. Of those 41%, 50% said they'd buy it within the first 6 months. The research was conducted by InMobi, who went into further detail. The also found that 51% of current iPhone owners would be buying the new model. But what's most shocking, is that 52% of Blackberry owners said they would be getting the iPhone 5, and 28% of Android buyers would be making the switch to iOS with the iPhone 5.
InMobi did say that there would be less demand if the next iPhone is just a speed bump, an iPhone 4S. But, if current rumors are true, Apple will be releasing both a speed bump for the iPhone 4, and a brand new model alongside it.
