Finally, Google+ has been released to the public. One of the hurdles behind getting more users (requiring an invite) has been eliminated. Previously, I discussed how Google+ has the potential to become a very popular social network, just based on what it could do better than Facebook. The enhanced privacy, interface, and features make Google+ the clear winner between G+ and Facebook. The only thing standing in it's way? Slow adoption due the fact that it was in a limited field trial. Now, it's open for everyone.
Google also added many new features, including improved Hangouts and Search, which they've outlined on their blog. Video chat and sketching within the Hangouts feature looks great (and fun). Google+ is still technically in "beta", but for Google, that doesn't mean to much. Gmail was in beta for years, even though it was fully functional and stable for 99% of that time.
You can check out Google Plus for yourself now here. It's easy, secure, and private, so what do you have to lose from checking it out?
