Yes, Blogpress is better in one key way: landscape layout. Any typing for more than a few seconds in portrait mode is literally a pain. I'm serious, my finger begin to ache.
Besides that issue, there's another big one. You have very little control over images. Thus the huge, centered image below (couldn't even move it to the top). I later came in and added the screeenshot I normally would have had for this post to the left. Why would Google assume bloggers don't care about the photos on their blog?
This app still requires a lot of work. But perhaps Google is willing to do that work... Eventually. The Google+ app is still without landscape, so I don't expect Google to update this app quickly either. It's a shame, I thought mobile blogging would finally be fixed with this app.
I had to come back in and edit this post, so the big image wouldn't show up on the main page, and to add the link to the app. You can download it here. It's free, so why not download it, if only to tell Google how the need to improve it.
From the app, I had no way of moving this, adding a page break so it wouldn't take up the whole front page, or even shrinking it, so it would fit well next to the post. Google really dropped the ball with this app. Which isn't too surprising, as the worst part about Google+ is the app for it. Perhaps Google just can't design a mobile user interface?
